Alameda County California Real Estate
Known as "The Island City," Alameda County consists of three islands and a small portion of the mainland. However, it is not the entire island that belongs to Alameda; a small part of a former runway at Alameda Naval Air Station has extended over the county line into San Francisco Bay, which belongs to San Francisco City and County.
There was a time when Alameda County was your only option when you couldn't afford even one-bedroom condominiums in San Francisco. As a result, you were forced to think about Alameda, a place many Bay Area residents overlook. Unfortunately, as the city developed rapidly, Alameda homes got more costly.
Yet, thanks to its rich community and exceptional public schools, Alameda is among the best places to raise a family in the bay.
