Rhode Island may be small, but it is bigger than just that one island. Most of it is located inland. The Climate of Rhode Island
Rhode Island is technically a Humid Continental climate area. Its summers are warm but not hot, and its winters are cool but not frigid. All but the southernmost part of the state is likely to see snow in the winter. The average high temperatures in Rhode Island rarely go above 83 degrees F in the summer, and average lows rarely drop below 20 F in the winter.

Like most of New England, Rhode Island is vulnerable to hurricanes and tropical storms. However, truly damaging storms are rare. Examples include Hurricane Bob in 1991, Hurricane Donna in 1960 and Hurricane Carol in 1954. They are not so common as to have an adverse effect on the prices of land for sale in Rhode Island, for example.
